BKT review AGAIN!

Hahaha, its the foodie maniac again!! Remember I mentioned to you about the nice nice Ba Kut Teh (BKT for short) @ Bugis? Heehee.. here's the review for it and also another stall selling Thai food... Yummmy... =)

Here are some pics of the food!

Here's what a usual set we will order, 1 bowl of the BKT, 1 plate of peanuts and 1 plate of my fav tau kee (with chicken feet aka phoenix claws)

Individual dishes review coming up:

Peanuts, soft yet not soggy. Think the size of the peanuts played a part too, usually pple like to use the BIG shantong kind (something like what u eat in pasar malam) but this is juz right as its nt too big so u will juz keep popping them into your mouth and before u know it.. half of the plate is gone... :p

Next up, my fav! Tau Kee. Okie this is quite a basic dish, nothing very fantastic abt it but still the simplicity of this dish makes it yummier. ;) pair this with the rice, i can just finish the whole dish lah (okie I admit, I'm a glutton)

Here's the hero! The day we tried, the soup was abit peppery. But the meat was perfect, i didnt mind eating slightly more of the meat (usually i juz take more of the soup and leave the Ba Kut for my Darling.. heehee). What I love about all BKT stalls (or most of them) is that they let u refill ur soup (ma chiam in primary school like tat)

Next up is another stall which is also recommended by us, nice thai food @ affordable prices:

Ordered the Garlic Chicken with Rice (complimentary Mango Salad,Egg and Tom Yum Soup)

The tom yum soup was abit too sweet this time round, the usual one was better (think the chef added a bit too much sugar)

The one i like most was the Mango Salad, and this is quite a decent serving. Only thing is that I accidentally took a small chilli padi and my tongue was numb for a full 10 - 15 mins.. was drooling lor.. due to the body's natural reaction to use saliva to numb the pain...

The main dish is the garlic chicken, i think its okie, if u ever try this stall.. try the chicken with basil leaves, think that is better. What I also like is that they actually give u 1 egg to go with the whole meal...

Forgot to add that we ordered You Tiao (yu zha kueh - dough sticks) for dipping into the BKT but my very innovative darling went to...

Okie peeps, if you wanna try this BKT and Thai stall, take the train to Bugis, exit from the Rochor road exit and turn to the left, u will see a kopitiam below a block of flats (think its Rochor Centre). That's the kopitiam. P.S. this Bugis BKT is the very popular one previously on the other side of the road (Blanco court, i tink). If you are heading down for lunch, u may wanna try the Albert Centre Temporary Hawker Centre.. there seems to be alot of good food too.. ;p
